WILKSWOOD FARM IS A National Trust farm in Swanage, Dorset, and has been tenanted by farmer Paul Loudoun for over 25 years. The farm encompasses over 600 acres of land devoted to conservation and environmental protection of a wide range of habitats. This is vital for the survival of many species of orchids, butterflies, grasses, wild flowers, amphibians, farm and woodland birds and horse shoe bats to name a few!
The beauty of the Purbeck landscape is also important to us and to this end we have repaired over 4500 yards of dry stone walls which are key to getting the right type of grazing, with the right type of animal at the right time of year.
Due to our conservation ethos and our farm management we were thrilled to win the 2009 Farming & Wildlife Advisory Group conservation award (FWAG).
We believe that our ethical and environmental approach produces the best quality meats, which we want to share with you, so in December 2007 we opened our farm butchery.
